After being home for two years, getting really comfortable in sweats and loungewear.
Add to that the fact the world really has changed. You’ve changed, body changed, job maybe different.
So the question becomes, what do I wear when I have to go into the office a few day s week and work from home the other days?
The goal in both instances is to be professional and comfortable.
One of the biggest tips to selecting great pieces is choosing fabrics that have stretch.
You also want loose but not sloppy. So look for a tailored silhouette.
This look pictured here, is one of the options I suggested for my client, who is a a Corporate Director (Media)
The comfort of a slim cut hoodie and the polish of a tailored blazer with stretch. The larger plaid speaks to her outgoing personality.
Loose/wider cut dark denim, dressier than a lighter wash
Patent loafers elevated her entire ensemble
Hybrid work is here
This is how you can be comfortable and professional
Ready to return to the office or prefer 100% remote work?
Here are some wardrobe basics for hybrid work
Nice/ statement top-This will give you built-in interest. Choose colours that look great on you, so you look vibrant and alive. This will translate well for your virtual calls. They will also look great in person
2. Comfy pants– Even though your bottoms aren’t seen on your virtuaal calls, I encourage you to wear nice tailored pants. Tailored doesn’t have to be stuffy. Choose fabrics with stretch, and that are slim to the body. Think joggers, leather leggings and heavy weight knit/ponte. Here are some options.
3. Dresses– I’m all for “one decision dressing”. The beauty of a dress. These are great for in office and virtual.
4. Shoes– So, who can get their feet back into heels? Flats and lower heels are the name of the game now.. I love the look of brogues, metallic flats, platform sneakers. These are all elevated, and look very chic with any of your office looks. Just as with boots this Winter, thicker soles are on trend
So there you have it. Now you have a great starting point for your return to the office.
